An Yan, Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange; Cheng Aimin, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Students Education Management Branch of China Higher Education Association and former Director of the International Division of Nanjing University; Zhang Shuting, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Nanjing University; Yang Yi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Nanjing University; All members of the certification expert group and relevant functional departments, directly under the unit, teaching (training) unit responsible persons participate in the on-site review work. Yang Yi presided over the on-site review work briefing.
Zhang Shuting expressed a warm welcome to the certification experts to visit the school to guide the work of studying in China at the on-site review work description. He said that improving the education quality and management level of international students is one of the core tasks of the university to "leapfrog from domestic first-class universities to international first-class universities". Based on the discipline advantages of "double first-class" and the professional characteristics of "Media +", the University continues to explore innovative education paths, constantly optimize the management mechanism of overseas students in China, enrich education and teaching resources, actively expand the internship platform, and cultivate a large number of high-quality composite media talents who are knowledgeable and friendly to China for the world. Zhang Shuting said that the school will take this certification as an opportunity to vigorously promote the high-quality development of study abroad work in China, further optimize the scale and structure of students, improve the education quality assurance mechanism, build a professional service system, help strengthen the brand of "Study in China", and constantly polish the brand of "Study abroad in China" to contribute due wisdom and strength to the education cause of study abroad in China.
Yan stressed that the higher quality certification of international students in China is an important means to test the quality and effectiveness of the education of colleges and universities in China, and it is an important guarantee to promote the opening up of China's education and the healthy and sustainable development of education in China. She pointed out that through the certification work, the school can fully demonstrate its international school-running strength and international influence, education, teaching and management service system integration ability and comprehensive management ability, and can achieve the efficiency of promoting construction by evaluation, promoting reform by evaluation, and promoting strength by evaluation.
Cheng Aimin introduced the principles, requirements and arrangements of the on-site examination of this certification. He stressed that the certification team will strictly implement the high quality certification system and index standards for international students in China, and make a comprehensive and objective evaluation and judgment on the school's work of studying in China through consulting various supporting materials, field visits, interviews and other ways, and put forward targeted development suggestions and opinions.
Yang Yi reported to the expert group on the training of international students in Communication University of China with the title of "Focusing on the construction of international communication capacity and Cultivating the backbone of Knowledge and Friendship in China". He introduced the development process and basic situation of the education of overseas students in our university. He said that the Communication University of China adheres to the noble mission of serving the major strategy of the country and optimizes the professional structure and personnel training system of international student enrollment in China. He shared the characteristics and highlights of the university's work in studying in China in three aspects: "Positioning international communication capacity building, cultivating international students who know China and are friends with China", "Strengthening the convergence management of international students in China, continuously optimizing the management and service of international students in China", "Systemizing the promotion of national culture and education, and casting the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind". The self-evaluation, self-examination and continuous improvement of the quality certification of higher education for international students are also introduced.
After the presentation, the expert group interviewed with school leaders in charge of studying in China, heads of functional departments related to studying in China, heads of training units, heads of centralized management departments and management personnel, and completed discussions with representatives of teachers and representatives of international students. I reviewed the relevant systems, enrollment files, student files, professional training programs, student papers, graduation papers and other certification supporting materials of the university for studying in China. I also visited the Media Museum, School of Animation and Digital Arts, library, National Key Building (State Key Laboratory of Media Integration and Communication), one-stop service hall for international students, dormitory for international students and other places. I attended and commented on courses such as "Cross-cultural Communication" and "Chinese Language".
At the feedback exchange meeting, Cheng Aimin, on behalf of the expert group, gave preliminary feedback on the overall situation of the education of international students in our university. The expert group believes that the Communication University of China has distinct characteristics, continuous innovation in curriculum construction, unique characteristics in practical teaching and remarkable achievements in personnel training. At the same time, the expert group also put forward suggestions on the top-level design, management mechanism, management information, short-term non-academic education projects and other aspects of the school's study in China.
Zhang Shuting expressed his respect and gratitude to the experts for their rigorous and pragmatic attitude and careful and meticulous work. He said that the school will, as always, attach great importance to, plan and efficiently promote the education of international students in the school, and comprehensively summarize, formulate rectification plans, clarify measures, and strengthen the use of initial certification results based on the valuable opinions put forward by experts.
